Community
Projects
ClubsNSW role in the ClubGRANTS scheme is at a policy and co-ordination level.
ClubsNSW also provides comprehensive advice to both member clubs and
Local Committee Convenors and consults with the Office of Liquor, Gaming and
Racing (OLGR) on all issues concerning the scheme.
The new ClubGRANTS (formerly CDSE) scheme will deliver benefits of approximately $90 million over four years, allowing clubs to strengthen their community support in a wide range of areas.
The scheme will increase the tax rebate for registered clubs from 1.5 per cent to 2.25 per cent. The claimable rate for Category 1 will remain unchanged with a minimum contribution of 0.75 per cent while Category 2 will be increased to a maximum of 1.1 per cent.
Category 2 core activities will also be expanded to include contributions to professional sport, excluding player payments.
A new Category of expenditure has also been created in which a further 0.4 per cent of a club’s gaming profits over $1 million that would otherwise be paid in tax will be paid into a new ClubGRANTS Fund.
The ClubGRANTS fund will pay for large scale sport, health and community infrastructure projects across the state, amounting to an estimated $10 million per year.
